Grades 7–9
There is another way to experience middle school. One where students are known by name, where curiosity matters more than test scores, and where growing older doesn’t mean leaving creativity, movement, and wonder behind.
At Dreamers, our Grades 7–9 students spend their days learning in ways that feel alive. They might explore a fascinating question in science, become absorbed in a story from history, debate an idea with classmates, fill a page with writing, or work through a challenging math concept—and then step outside for a field game, pick up a paintbrush for watercolor, work with their hands, take the stage in theater, move and reset through yoga, or laugh with friends during recess.
There is a rhythm to the day: periods of focused academic work balanced with art, movement, creativity, fresh air, and connection.
Our students paint. They draw. They sew, knit, craft, and create through handwork. They perform and collaborate in theater. They practice yoga, play field games, read wonderful literature, write, investigate, ask questions, solve problems, and spend time outdoors. Learning isn't confined to a textbook or a screen—it happens through conversation, experience, creativity, movement, and meaningful work.
And because our classes are intentionally small, students don't disappear into the crowd. Teachers have the opportunity to truly know them—their strengths, their struggles, their interests, and the people they are becoming.
These are important years. Students are developing their own ideas, discovering what matters to them, and becoming increasingly independent. We want them to be challenged academically, stretched creatively, and encouraged to grow as individuals—all while experiencing the connection, joy, and sense of belonging that make these years so meaningful.
At Dreamers, middle school can still feel a little magical.
